We look forward to being a part of your journey.
Our story started in 2009 when founders Steve and Jeana Luther felt called to start a wellness center focusing on body, soul, and spirit. Initially, they realized that care was too often compartmentalized, with different disciplines disregarding or unaware of groundbreaking work in other fields. As a result, seeing this weakness in philosophy of care, they committed to offering services that integrated all areas of life in order to provide holistic healing and wellness. Over time, things have grown from a local wellness center into an international organization providing online Christian counseling, coaching, and wellness services. Today, NuWell serves clients around the country and around the world.

Do you accept insurance?
At NuWell, our pastoral counseling is distinct from traditional therapeutic services. Pastoral counselors are not state-licensed, meaning we’re unable to bill insurance. However, this independence is an advantage for you. By not being bound to insurance and medical regulations, we are free to focus on addressing your spiritual and personal needs without limitations. This flexibility allows us to offer a uniquely holistic, faith-based approach to care that aligns with your beliefs and values, prioritizing true restoration without external control over the methods we use.
What does it cost?
Frequently, the first question people ask about our counseling services is, “what does it cost?” What this tells us is that this customer sees our service as a commodity. A commodity is typically something like corn or grain or gas where there is a large supply that is essentially all the same. With a commodity, the only concern is “what does it cost?” Get the lowest price because it is all the same. All counseling is not the same and doesn’t have the same effectiveness and therefore isn’t a commodity. Many times people settle for what their insurance will cover or what they have known in the past, namely traditional medical model based counseling. What is the difference between pastoral counseling and traditional counseling?
